From time to time I gather together a group of young intellectuals, men upon whose thoughts entire nations may one day turn. We discuss issues of extreme importance: Economics, politics, history, the start of the 2015-16 English Premier League soccer season, and whether or not it is reasonable that their teachers expect them to complete summer reading assignments. For the record, we have all agreed that summer reading assignments are unreasonable and that summers are meant for more important pursuits, such as riding down the river in a canoe.
